Anastasia’s Wishes

We wanted to keep Anastasia’s memory alive and one of the ways we are doing this is through fundraising and awareness.

Firstly, Matt and I had always talked about how we would love to read stories to our daughter. When she was born and we had our precious time with her, we were lucky that Anastasia’s Auntie Amy (my beautiful sister) brought us books in to read her. It was wonderful. We realised that some other parents may not have that opportunity.

Our amazing friends and families helped us buy books and I am in the process of putting a basket together to go into The Butterfly Suite at Basingstoke Hospital (the bereavement room). This will give parents books that they can read to their babies and then either take them as a keep sake or leave them with their babies to have forever.

Secondly, our amazing family have given us some money to use how we please. So far, we have purchased new bedding and pillows for The Butterfly Suite at Basingstoke Hospital. They wanted to update what they had there. I will be looking into what else we can do for this amazing place.

Lastly (for now), I am in the process of making blankets to go into memory boxes. A wonderful charity called SiMBA creates beautiful memory boxes for parents who suffer a baby loss at any stage of pregnancy. Some amazing family and friends of mine are also making blankets in memory of Anastasia and for this I will be forever grateful.
